Fr Moses Fahmy

Fr. Moses Fahmy was born in Cairo, Egypt in 1973. Fr. Moses was raised and grew up in the heart of Cairo in the district of Shoubra Masr. Fr. Moses was blessed to grow up in this district in the middle of the largest Coptic community in Cairo. He served different age groups in his church in Egypt (St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church of Massarra). He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Zagazig University (Shoubra School of Engineering) in 1996. Then He held different positions in Construction and Project Management industry while in Egypt before he immigrated to the US in 2005. Since his immigration to the US, Fr. Moses continued to grow in his career in Construction and Project Management for many large to mega States and Federal projects in the transportation sector. Fr. Moses also obtained his Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and majored in Finance from Loyola University (Sellinger School of Business). He is also a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland and holds many other professional credentials.

Fr. Moses was ordained a priest on November 3rd, 2018 by laying the hands of HG Bishop Karas (along with HG Bishop Abraham, the General Bishop of the Diocese of Los Angeles) to serve the Coptic community in St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church of Lancaster. Prior to his ordination as a priest, Fr. Moses served as a Sunday School teacher to the youths and young adults at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church of Maryland for about 10 years and then he served the youths and young adults at St. Mary Coptic Orthodox Church of Newark, Delaware.
Fr. Moses is married to his best friend Tasony Noha Fahmy and he is the proud father of two wonderful children, John (born in 2004) and Maryanne (born in 2008). As a family, they love spending time together hiking, traveling, biking and listening to different kinds of music!
